The Manglaralto Cultural Identity Route was promoted with a Fam Press Trip

Several representatives of Guayaquil's tourism operators and local media outlets were able to experience the richness of the Manglaralto Cultural Identity route through a familiarization trip held in Santa Elena.

The objective of this Fam Press Trip was to contribute to the development of the area's economy and bring national tourism operators closer to the community to establish coordination and communication mechanisms for promoting the route.

Currently, the Manglaralto parish has 115 tourist accommodations and 24 food and beverage establishments located in Libertador Bolívar, Dos Mangas, Montañita, Olón, Las Núñez, San José, La Entrada, and La Rinconada. Visitors to this town will be able to witness the processing of toquilla straw and the creation of handicrafts with materials such as guadua cane, abaca, ceramics, and clay.

During the tour, Ana Saltos, a representative of the Ecuador Expeditions Tour Operator, expressed that Santa Elena has many attractions beyond its beautiful beaches. "The experience we had today, reviving the traditions and culture of the coast in this province, shows us that it's a place worth visiting again, or that we will recommend to our clients."

That was precisely the experience enjoyed by the Fam Press Trip participants, who were also able to enjoy seafood-based cuisine and clay-oven bread making, as well as tours of sanctuaries, churches, and a museum. An additional attraction in this area, which can be enjoyed in the coming days, is the presentation of "Las Mojigas," a cultural event where Manglaralto residents dress up, dance, and parade through the streets, from December 28th to 30th, culminating in a grand popular celebration.

Tourism Minister Niels Olsen highlighted the benefits this area offers, inviting citizens to visit. “Experience the route, learn about the local culture, taste the cuisine, and feel the warmth of the people of Manglaralto is a must. Come, visit this area, and support the revitalization of the local economy by enjoying what's ours,” he concluded.
