Quilotoa Lagoon – Devil's Nose2 days – 1 night
Day 2.- Alausí – Devil's Nose Route by Train – Quito
Breakfast. In the morning, we depart for the train station in Alausí for our journey to Sibambe via the Devil's Nose. "The greatest obstacle facing the trans-Andean railway project was the Devil's Nose, a mountain with almost perpendicular walls. To overcome this obstacle, a zigzag track was built that overcomes a 500-meter gradient in just 12 km of dizzying ascent or descent, and which remains an impressive feat of engineering today. We will also discover the Chanchán River basin and the traditions and worldview of the Puruhua people in Sibambe."
Lunch. Return to Quito in the afternoon, estimated arrival at 7:00 p.m.
Day 1.- Quito – Quilotoa – Tigua Community – Riobamba
We depart in the morning from Quito, crossing the Avenue of the Volcanoes to reach the impressive Quilotoa Volcano Lagoon. Along the way, we'll enjoy a snack and visit an indigenous market selling all kinds of local products. Once at the lagoon's viewpoint, we'll take a 45-minute (descent) to 1.5-hour (ascent) hike. It's the ideal place to relax, enjoy the unique scenery, and capture unforgettable family memories.
Lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Tigua community, world-renowned for its paintings depicting stories from the Ecuadorian Andes.
We continue our journey to Riobamba for accommodation, dinner and a well-deserved rest.
