The Risk Management Secretariat and the Ministry of Tourism remind citizens and tourism service providers that all activities within the crater and caldera of the Guagua Pichincha Volcano are prohibited. This includes descending into the crater, visiting fumaroles, hot springs, hiking, climbing, and mountaineering.
